conversely, if you ever are interviewing someone and recording them for later review, it would be pretty wise to interpret these gestures verbally as they occur.
transcription seems an odder job every day.
it’s negative nine degrees and it isn’t so bad
– my sister emily, on visiting the university of minnesota
crazy and also exciting for her to be visiting colleges at last. also, -9 degrees is cold.

"intro to sustaining the urban environment"
a great academic environment for entering an intense class debate about the details of china’s one-child policy, as a member of the class who is from china sits there, completely bemused.
oddly enough, she seemed to have some more informed things to say about the topic when acknowledged.
and so go most discussions on “sustainability” at uc: heated arguments amongst a bunch of...

“Well, people didn’t want to pay taxes, so there was no fire department. Eventually, too many buildings burned down to dismiss the problem and a fire department was created. Today, we don’t want to pay taxes, so we are cutting the fire department [Cincinnati is closing several stations within city limits this year], which you know I think is fine, because it’s better for business....

npr first listen: kiss each other clean →
i believe i can happily admit i was unduly concerned about new iron and wine. definitely a little jazzier than i was entirely prepared for, but still good.

do you realize that girls are wearing a lot more boots these days?
yes i do, and i like it. especially like brown or black ones, or those taller ones. those are hot.
i don’t usually really like boots, but i saw this one girl, and she actually looked really nice.

i think i’d like to go to texas and see girls wearing...
(nickol)-eptic
(which i confess to having mentioned/explained before) is simply a reference to my narcoleptic tendencies
more specifically, my ability to fall asleep within an instant while sitting in a class, watching a movie, writing, reading, working at a computer, or doing any other such things
i used to think that this experience was simply due to my hardly sleeping at all during the night
but now i do...
